Psychotic Informer - 11/13/11

Guess who’s back? It’s Alec, your friendly neighborhood Psychotic Gaming reporter guy! Now with significantly less 3DS news.
1.  Starting off with something exciting, do we have the possible return of God of War? Yes, though the developers claimed the series was only going to be a trilogy, they apparently decided to screw that and milk more money out of their series. And I don’t blame them, God of War is freakin’ amazing. A few weeks back a job opening hinted towards the game, but no one knew anything. Now a new hint has been delivered by our good friends in New Zealand. They put the game up for pre-order on one of their retailing websites, pricing it was...$114? Huhwhat? Probably just a typo or something. Why would the game be $114? But oh well. The website also states that the speculated release date is Sept. 28th, 2012. So get your calendars ready! Just don’t write anything in them yet, because I’m not sure this information is correct. But stay tuned, there’s bound to be more news about this in the coming weeks! (For more information, read the full article)

2. AND THEN ALEC LIED. Because, guess what? MORE FREAKIN’ 3DS NEWS! Now, if you don’t have a 3DS by now, you have no reason not to get one with this next piece of information. The most beautiful 3DS ever revealed to this history of mankind ever is being released in America. The Zelda 3D Bundle. Accompanying the Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D game, we have the best 3DS in the history of awesomeness. I mean, just look at is. STARE AT ITS EXCELLENCE. If you’re not intimidated, I feel bad for you. It’s obviously more beautiful than you.

And no, I’m not just a Zelda fanboy. Why would you think that?

But anyway, the 3DS was announced a few weeks back for Europe. It was just announced today for America. It is priced for $200, or $99 if you trade in a DSiXL for it. And it’s going to rock. No release date on it yet, though. (For more information, read the full article)

3. Da hell. A Lego movie. PICTURE IT. A movie made out of Legos. Why? Why not, Hollywood does whatever it feels like doing. Based off the success of the Lego Video Games, they announced a Lego Movie. Nothing is known about it yet, except 80% of it will be animated but 20% will be live action. Huh. More details are expected to be announced next week. (For more information, read the full article)

Psychotic Informer - 7/27/11

1. Some more Skyward Sword news today (because what’s an Informer without Skyward Sword news). Officially announced today, Ganon will NOT be returning to the game. “The Triforce sort of takes on a different meaning and plays a different role in the story. So because of that, Ganon will not appear," said the Zelda series producer. Taking his place as the main villain is a new villain called Lord Ghirahim, who you can see above. Am I the one who thinks he looks sort of like a Zora? Either way, I would love to see Ganon back on my TV, and Ghirahim looks pretty sweet, but I’m hoping Ganon will be back and bigger than ever in Zelda Wii U! What do you think about this new villain? Post your opinion in the comments! (For more information, read the full article)

2. Here’s some news to make you realize how obsessed with games people are; a Chinese couple sold their children for money to play online games. Back in 2009, the couple sold their first child, their daughter, for $500 US dollars. Later on they sold their two newborn baby boys for $4,600 US dollars each! The couple was finally turned in by the wife’s mother. The couple actually didn’t know they were breaking the law! They said "We don't want to raise them, we just want to sell them for some money." What do you think about this story? Post your opinion in the comments! (For more information, read the full article)

3. Remember how outraged fans were when Capcom made Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D without the ability to erase save files? Could you imagine if that happened again? Well, of COURSE it has. Apparently Namco Bandai didn’t get the memo that everyone hates this feature and that it is ridiculous. Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions has this awful feature in it. The game was released on July 26th on 3DS  What do you think? Should companies stop implementing this stupid feature? Post your opinion in the comments! (For more information, read the full article)

4. Did you ever want a giant ape on your wall? Well, now is your chance! The new Club Nintendo rewards include the Donkey Kong poster set and a Giant Mii AR Card! The poster set includes three posters and is like the other poster sets that include Mario and Zelda. The poster set it 400 Club Nintendo points, which is 50 more than the Zelda and Mario posters. The AR card is available for a mere 200 points and is a giant AR card for the 3DS. It features the question box so you can take pictures with your Mii, and on the reverse side it has the Mario AR card. (For more information, read the full article)

Psychotic Informer - 7/24/11

1. First up is some Zelda news! Skyward Sword is changing the Zelda series by a lot (brand new style of graphics, a ton of new items, a new world, ect.), but here’s another new change! The new game is going to feature item upgrades, instead of the traditional method where you either find or buy an upgrade. You will be combining rupees and parts dropped from enemies to make a weapon upgrade (kind of like Monster Hunter in a way). The upgrades will apply to Link’s beetle weapon, his shield and other weapons, too! Do you think this is a good change? Post your opinion in the comments! (For more information and a video, read the full article)

2. Next up is something I found pretty amusing because of my last post. I mentioned how Freddy Krueger was going to be added to Mortal Kombat 9 via DLC. After that I said “But now that we’re letting movie villains into the brawl, what about Jason?”. Well, they answered my question! "Over the years, we've certainly had a number of conversations about guest characters," said Ed Boon, co-founder of the MK series, “A number of names were run by us: Jason, Michael Meyers and all those guys. Freddy Kreuger, we felt, was the most instantly recognizable and he fits in with Mortal Kombat with his claws." What do you think? Is Freddy fit for this kind of role, or should some other slasher villain be in his place? Leave your opinion in the comments! (For more information, read the full article)

3. Everyone, get your emails ready! According to Nintendo Majora’s Mask 3D will be made only if there is enough support from the fans! “I think certainly if there was a similar output of emotion and clamor [as there was for Ocarina of Time 3D] from fans for a remake of Majora's Mask, it wouldn't be an utter impossibility,” they said. So everybody go on the Nintendo website and email them your support! Or write them letters or something, however people communicate these days. Do you think Majora’s Mask should be made in 3D? Post your opinion in the comments! (For the full interview, click here)

Psychotic Informer - 7/22/11

 1. Another 3D classic has finally arrived on the 3DS eShop! 3D Classics: Xevious is the new addition to the series of 3D remakes of other games (the first being Excitebike). A port of the 1982 classic arcade game Xevious, the game is fully 3D and it looks very cool. Obviously in the above image you cannot see the 3D, so if you want to see it you just have to go to the eShop on your 3DS and view the sample video. The game looks really cool, and it’s only $6, so you should buy it! Also coming out today is the new Nintendo Video where you can watch free 3D videos, so that will be pretty sweet. Go pick these new apps up today!

2. Do you live in the Los Angeles area and love Zelda? This next story is for you! The concert tickets for The Legend of Zelda Symphony Concert are available for the first concert on August 1st. The actual concert date will be on October 21st, with the full concert tour coming in 2012. "It's an event that fans and music aficionados won't want to miss." said the producer.  If this concert would happen to come anywhere near me, I would see it in a heartbeat. The tickets are pretty pricey, though. $30 for the arena seats, $150 for the front row. What do you think? Would you see this concert? Or is it too expensive for you? (For more information, read the full article)

3. When you think of Mortal Kombat, what do you think of? Maybe Raiden, Johnny Cage, or Sub-Zero? What about Freddy Krueger? Yes, you read that correctly. Freddy Krueger will be added to Mortal Kombat 9 via DLC. This is kind of weird, but I think it will be interesting. But now that we’re letting movie villains into the brawl, what about Jason? Maybe Dracula? Or how about Mechagodzilla? (For more information and a video, read the full article)

4. This isn’t much of a story as it is a favor to me. The other day I was talking about how Capcom canceled Mega Man Legends 3 and I was severely disappointed. Though this isn’t much, and it might not work, would you people with Facebook accounts please just take 5 seconds out of your day and click the ‘Like’ button on this page? Psychotic Informer - 7/21/11

1. More awesome (and sad) news coming your way in this edition of Psychotic Informer! First up, breaking news! The Kirby game for the Wii that we have simply been calling ‘Kirby Wii’ finally has an actual name! The highly anticipated game is going to be called ‘Kirby Returns To Dreamland’. Based on the title, I am PUMPED for this game. Kirby can finally recover from the ‘half-a-Kirby’ game Epic Yarn! What do you think about this title? Do you think it sounds AWESOME like I do? Post your opinion in the comments! (For more information, read the full article)

2. There’s some more Phoenix Wright news for today; Phoenix is going to be a new character in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3! Other new characters are going to include: Hawkeye, Ghost Rider, Firebrand, and Strider! I don’t know about you, but I think ‘OBJECTION!’ is going to be the new Falcon Punch, don’t you think? (For more information, read the full article)

3. More sad news about the 3DS today. The highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy has been cancelled. It was cancelled way back in September of 2010. "It wasn't due to anything that took place. We felt the machine already had a number of hardcore games for its release," Said Ubisoft. By ‘hardcore games for its release’, you mean Nintendogs? Yes, that is totally hardcore. There has only been one really great title so far, in my opinion. I was honestly looking forward to this game. This is a very bad week for games. First Mega Man Legends 3, now this. I wonder what else will happen this week? Stay tuned and find out! What do you think about the cancellations this year? Post your opinion in the comments! (For more information, read the full article)

4. At this year's San Diego Comic Con, a new Zelda: Skyward Sword trailer has been released! It features a great view of the starting town of Skyloft and shows how Link begins his adventure! It also features several new enemies. And Gorons! The Gorons look kind of strange, in my opinion. I don’t really like the character design in this, but I am really excited for this game, and if you’re a Zelda fan, you should be too! Watch the new trailer and enjoy!
