Psychotic Informer - 8/2/11

1. Remember last week when I said that Namco-Bandai’s new game ‘Pac-Man And Galaga Dimensions’ had save data that wasn’t erasable? Apparently they were being dumb that day, because they confirmed it there. But now it turns out you actually can! "There has been a miscommunication at our level. Thanks for understanding," said the company’s publisher. The way to remove the save data is to simply press all the face buttons and the triggers (XYBALR). Sounds simple enough. So how come everyone thought it was impossible? Because apparently everyone is out to destroy the 3DS for who knows what reason, so everyone thinks the worst possible thing. What do you think? Why did everyone think it was impossible to remove the save data? (For more information, read the full article)

2. Some sad news today. Chris Staniforth, a lovely 20-year-old chap from the good ol’ country of England died back in May. It’s been announced that he died of blood clots from playing too many video games. Apparently, he had 12 hour gaming sessions everyday and his blood started to clot. This type of blood clot usually occurs when you’re on long flights or car rides, but it happened to him because he played games for 12 hours. Usually when you play games for that long of time you get up to get food and go to the bathroom, so it shouldn’t happen. Chris, however, had suffered from former blood problems, so he clotted easily. What do you think? If the guy had former blood problems, do you think he should’ve been sitting down for 12 hours a day? (For more information, read the full article)

3. Some more sad news concerning Mega Man Legends 3. Their spokesman said that even with all the fan support they still have no plans to bring back MML3. This really makes me angry. The reason they closed the freakin’ project in the first place is because of lack of fan support, now they have tons and they’re not reopening it. That’s just dumb. They said they were aware of the 100,000 Strong petition I posted last week, but they didn’t even care. What is wrong with them? What do you think? Is this seriously dumb of them, to deny thousands of their fans a game they want? (For more information, read the full article)

Psychotic Informer - 7/15/11

1.  After a much needed rest from yesterday, Psychotic Informer is back with more gaming news you need to know! Do you like watching movies? Many of us do. Do you like watching movies on 3.5 x 3 inch screens? What do you mean you don’t? Either way, Netflix for the 3DS has now been released! You can watch all your favorite movies and shows from Netflix on the 3.5 x 3 inch screen. You need wi-fi to use it, too. I think this is pretty dumb. If you’re in a wi-fi zone, why not just use your laptop to watch your shows? Even if you don’t have a laptop, why would you want to watch movies on your 3DS while at Starbucks? The worst part is that there won’t even be any 3D movies specially made for it! It just sounds like a dumb idea to me. In it’s defense, though, the video quality is beautiful and it’s easy to use. But either way, the app is free (though you still need a Netflix subscription), so why not? What do you think about Netflix on 3DS? (For more information, read the full article)

2.  In other movie news (I swear this is still a video game article, just bear with me), The new PS3 model will not have the option to use component HD cables for Blu-ray video! You will be forced to use an HDMI cable, however, unlike the removal of PS2 backwards compatibility, this removal wasn’t entirely their fault. The new CECH-3000 model PS3 will not be able to stream the high quality video without the component wires because of a new rule that was implemented by Sony themselves. The new rule is that you have to use HDMI for Blu-ray so people cannot record the video. So basically, it’s for copyright purposes. Will this new rule effect you if you plan to get the new PS3 model? (For more information, read the full article)

3. Do you like Mario, Zelda, or any other game where you play as the hero trying to save your loved one? Do you ever wonder who hires the hero to save the day? All your answers and more will be answered in the new game called Brave Company! This simulation game allows you to be the management leader in a company that hires heroes to go and save the world. Because why be the hero when you can be the hero that hires the hero? This game is being released by Namco-Bandai on October 27th in Japan for 3DS. No word yet on American release, but this game sounds cool. I’m a sucker for simulation games. What do you think about this concept? (For more information, read the full article)

Psychotic Informer - 7/12/11

1.  What do you think of when you hear about the game Saint’s Row? Do you think of a game like Grand Theft Auto, gangs and guns? What about autotune? Or psychotic cats? Well, in the Platinum Bundle for pre-ordering “Saints Row: The Third” you will receive a free autotune headset! Sadly, the headset only works with the included soundtrack that also comes in the Platinum bundle. But I’m sure we’ll figure out how to hack it eventually. In the ordinary pre-order package you get a new skin for your character called Professor Genki along with a new car themed after Professor Genki. I think these pre-order bonuses are pretty weird. What do you think? (For more information, read the full article)

2. Ever think the human race could be more lazy? Well, it’s finally happened! That’s right, a man named Ben Heck has made a prototype for an Xbox 360 disc changer. It will change games for you and you won’t even have to leave your couch! The downside is that this is extremely complicated to do and it is not recommended at all unless you are a professional with Xbox 360 hardware. (For more information, read the full article)

3. A new countdown clock on Namco Bandai Games’ website has appeared! We speculate that this will be an new game, but not much is known yet. There’s still about a week left on the clock, so I wonder what will come out of it. To see the countdown clock, click here.
